I'm dodging a (many?) bullet today and tomorrow and staying off the FWAs untill midweek.
Who else is intentionally skipping Opener to come out later?

I like to stay out of my woods opening weekend in hopes the local cervid population will use it as a sanctuary.......until I slip back in with bow in hand

I like opening day, because I don't want to wait another day. But it sounded like a war out there. But every shot I hear make me jealous that it wasn't me shooting. Made for a long today being that I got skunked. The best I could have done was a 6 pt, had to let him grow up. Seems like I never do good on opening day, but I am sure I will continue to be out there every year. 'A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work.'

I wasn't in the woods, but it wasn't by choice.... I have to work all weekend- only one weekend a year I have to work all of it and this is the one! But it's OK; I've got a nasty cold right now and probably have no business being in the woods as it is.

I was in a State Forest. Wasn't that bad. Of course I heard a lot of shots. There are a lot of hunters out in the woods.
