Not sure if this is really a "conservation officer" question, but they seem to be the "enforcement arm" of DNR, so it might be.
From what I can see from the DNR web pages, Public Fishing Areas (Boone's Pond, Driftwood, etc.) are State properties, but they are neither State Forests nor Parks where licensed handgun carry is permitted. Is carry permitted on them? My guess at the moment is "yes" since I've found nothing that says otherwise. But, not being able to claim perfection, there's always the possibility I've missed something.

Your PPP/carry permit allows you to carry at these locations.
