Hmm, I think I'll see what the reviews are after it's been out for a while. I do like my thermocell though, I'd like to see this bug button thing in brown too.

I bought some non-insecticidal flea spray not long ago, it contained all three of the oils in the Bug Button along with several others, it sure didn't work on fleas and had a very noticeable smell.

Ya, citronella has a strong smell. I'd like to look at one first hand.

Just got back from camping in the Swamps up here around DSP & The Natl' Lakeshore. The Mosquitos are... not quite as thick as in Alaska... just. Mosquitos love me, and I move around too much for Thermacells. DEET products work well, but as all of those chemical products are essentially neurotoxins of one sort or another carried in nasty solvents. Never found much use for Citronella, and I dislike the smell. BUT I found somthing that actually works fairly well, even if it doesn't last quite as long as a DEET product: Eqyss "Marigold Fly Spray". It's made for Equine use, but works fine on People. You can spray it DIRECTLY into your face without any issues (keep your eyeballs closed duh...). It's Clove Oil, Rosemary oil & Marigold oil in a natural non-alcohol carrier of some kind. Mosquitos will hover, but not land. eqyss.com/AND... you can buy it by the gallon... www.123tack.com/eqyss-marigold-spray--formerly-summer-defense---gallon-size.html?iorb=4764www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-2348&Eqyss+Summer+Defense+Fly+Spray=&bhcd2=1244415256Good Stuff! Now, for Scary: Off® brand Clip-On™ From another site: My wife saw the cool commercials on TV for Off® brand Clip-On™ Mosquito repellent and thought it would be a good alternative to applying something directly to her skin. She purchased the Clip-On and decided to try it out yesterday since the mosquito's here come in two sizes, "fryers and broilers" and they are thicker than love-bugs this year.
She had the clip-on on for just a few minutes before noting a chemical taste in her mouth then her eyes started to become irritated. She turned the Clip-On off and put it into a sealed plastic bag and left it outside. We started wondering about this product and did some research on it.
Each insert contains 31.2% Metofluthrin, a synthetic solvent developed in China. Turns out this is a very nasty neurotoxicant known to cause all sorts of damage to lab rats resulting in death. From what we have found, the maximum exposure limits have not been established for children nor even adult humans. It's known to be water soluble and highly toxic to fish & fowl as well as dogs. The Clip-On inserts are manufactured in Mexico.
I find it particularly interesting that the MSDS released by SC Johnson on 06/25/2008 does not even list metofluthrin in section 3 (Composition/Information on Ingredients) and in section 2 (Hazards Identification) it clearly states:Route of exposure: "Eyes, skin, inhalation, ingestion".
On the SC Johnson MSDS dated 10/15/2008 section 2 states: "Immediate Concerns: Harmful in contact with skin and if swallowed. May be harmful if inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors, mist or gas."
Considering the intended use of this product as directed and shown in advertisements for Off Clip-On is to envelope the user in a cloud of vapor, mist and/or gas, one can only be left to wonder if SC Johnson has even bothered to read their own MSDS for this product! The EPA report is downright scary.
I'm not telling you what to do but here are some links you can check out for yourself but I can assure you this crap will not be anywhere near my house ever again!www.epa.gov/opprd001/factsheets/metofluthrin.pdfwww.pesticideinfo.org/Detail_...Rec_Id=PC40157www.sumitomo-chem.co.jp/cgi-b...2005&number=02www.hardwarestore.com/media/msds/125660.pdfwww.scjohnson.ca/msds/OFF!%20...0Repellent.pdf www.offprotects.com/clip-on-mosquito-repellent/www.offprotects.com/coupon/04-09-bogo/

The EQyss "Marigold"spray has a smell, but not a chemical one. It's a flowery/clove kind of smell. Dunno if it would spook or act as an attractant.
I acually got some in my mouth, and it tastes like cloves, no chemical taste at all.
Be interesting to see how the deer react. Maybe I'll spray somthing down and put it out near by backyard deer trail...
