I was sent these pictures of a couple of firsts. The first photo is of Tanner Pease and his first turkey gobbler. He killed it Saturday afternoon while hunting with his dad. Quite a feat for the young hunter. That smile says it all! ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/Woowoo1/Tannerturkey.jpg) His dad (Jeff) went back out Sunday morning and bagged this very unique gobbler. I’ve seen “red” and “white” turkeys , but never a mix of red and white. That is a very pretty and nice trophy. A wall mounter for sure. ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/Woowoo1/jeffturkey.jpg) My CONGRATULATIONS to both hunters. You all did good!

What kind of genetics make a bird with those colors. It looks like it might be crossed with a Bourbon Red domestic turkey.
My congrats to the young hunter.

Wow, those are some great birds. I'd love to see a red, white, or any color phase bird in my area.

Ive seen the red and whites before, but they have always been hens. Are they a mixture between a wild and domesticated? What a trophy! Congratulations!

Correct me if I'm wrong... but that bird is of DIRECT domestic lineage. It may have been hatched in the wild, by domestic parents, but no characteristic of that bird reflects Indiana's wild Eastern's.
That is certainly not a color phase. I have taken two phased birds, and filmed several more, that's appears to be a clean cross of domestic turkeys.
Congradulations to the both, that boy looks tickled. Glad to see he got to watch dad shoot his also. Nothing teaches patience, respect and sharing like getting up at 4:30 to fight bugs and weather while NOT carrying a gun all day. Great stuff.
