The Castle Knights archery team captured its third consecutive state championship Friday at the Horizon Convention Center in Muncie Indiana.
The Knights overall score was 3,256 points. Second place went to Boonville at 3,185.
Castle Junior Cougar Martin was the top overall shooter with a score of 294. Junior Michael Wanhainen placed second at 291. Boonville Tori Henning took third place with a 281.
Jessica Parks, eighth grader at Boonville Junior High School, won the overall female shooting award, posting a score of 276.
Pioneer archer Kasey Persinger placed first in the high school division while team mate Briley Fiehter took fourth.
Both Castle and Boonville advanced to the Nationals, which will take place in Louisville on May 8 and 9.
