That's not from Indiana. He's got bobcats up there too. Pretty impressive! I wonder how long it took to hang them all?

Haha! Parts of me wishes it were... but then again I know how much work it takes to put up that many furs! That dude is dedicated!
I feel awful for not remembering the guys name, but he's a trapper from Canada. He's obviously real good at what he does, was featured in Trapper & Predator Caller several years ago. We had one of his partners come down and speak at our Midwest Predator convention a couple years ago with FTA in Greenwood. I have a copy of the article around here somewhere... because this topic has come up before.
The rifle in his hands is a little decieving... he trapped the vast majority of those animals, if not all. The picture is legit: but because of that rifle it has definately made the email loops as a "Succesful Caller". I give this guy all the credit in the world for his abilities as a trapper and his work ethic for putting up fur... if I was half that good at what he does, I'd be much better at calling.

Edit to add: I think that photo was taken in 1997. I need to dig up the article to verify...

Just curious... anyone care to take a guess at todays market value hanging? I was just wondering.

I'll take a stab at it... based on some rough ballpark values seen in various recent auctions and of course an educated guess at how many furs are actually hanging on that barn!
Bobcats: $65 Each, -$910 Red Fox: $22 Each, -$400 Coyote: $7 Each, -$1,925
Total: $3,235
Of course, his prices were probably higher 10 years ago and I'm not sure which fur zone he lives in. His coyotes could've been worth much more- those are Eastern Numbers.

It's a fine line really... seems even if you're not in it for the money or fame- you might as well be. If you sell $2,000 worth of fur in a season, you're cashing in on wildlife. Sell 2,000 DVD's and your izing the sport. Do both, but don't post it on a hunting forum, and you're a legendary sportsman of the community. I take a lot of pictures of the critters I call and kill for a few reasons. Pictures fuel sponsorships, win onlie contest and build credibility with landowners when looking for new properties. Unfortunately, pictures can evoke a lot of emotion online.... from jealousy to hatred, pictures can be worth a thousand headaches. I started posting about 1 in 10 of the animals I harvest and STILL occasionally catch flack for bragging... while the average guy can post all 4 of the animals he killed in a season and recieve warm greetings. I guess what I'm trying to say is- this guy is lucky he isn't online. His picture has been claimed by others, doubted by thousands, slammed by Anti's and much more. He's probably up in BFE Canada right now, cleaning up traps in his fur shed, and none-the-wiser to all the haters out there. No expectations, no excuses... I envy him.

leaving anything for next year? or just wiping out the population? Obviously, you've never trapped in Pennsyvania or know anyone who does..Fox are like house flys out there..Not many guys put up them kind of numbers...if any. He's been catching that many for many years...and year after year ,still more fox... you couldn't trap fox out in Pennsyvania if everyone who trapped put up numbers like Paul does...He makes a living doing it, it feed his family...
