I don't know anout the "ranch" thing......But it sure looks like he hit it pretty far back!
Look right above the cable guard on the bow....... in the pic!

I think he is the real deal...
There are a lot more bucks out there like that than most people know.
That hole is back aways IF it was a broadside shot. if he was angled steeply it would have been perfect.

I agree 100%. Even the most diligent hunters rarely know of all the bucks in their area. Chances are good that most people have bucks of similar size living near where they hunt. Getting a shot or even seeing these deer during day light hours is far from common though.

I thought the shot looked to be just a little forward of the ham.
Pertty clean mouth and nose for it to ba a lung shot.
Looks like the top arrow in the quiver might have some blood on the fletchings
