The back of Sunrize acres was my hunting spot, my guide Paul put me in a wood ground blind that had some Spanish Goats hanging around as he dropped me off. I watched the wide horned beast mill around the front of the blind not 10 yard away before they circled back behind me and layed down. While looking out the blind window, I caught sight of my first wild boar and a smile came across my face. There were about 5 of them about 150 yards away rooting around the forest floor. More hogs continued to cross in front of me still to far out for a shot with my TC Renegade percussion cap muzzleloader. Finally, a group started coming toward me and crossed about 60 yards in front of the blind giving me a good broadside quartering away shot, I put the sights on the beast and let the TC bark. It was tough to tell if I hit the critter, but I did notice it seperated from the other hogs as it took off. The sow went about another 100 yard and was found it laying on its belly, like it was taking a nap. The first picture is how I found the beast looking back toward the area the shot occured. traditional photo with weapon

Estimated at about 220 - 240 lbs.
It was my first time at hunting a "game farm"......the fact no bait was used and I was in a wooden ground blind back in the woods made it feel like every other hunt I have ever been on.
Of course the best part was meeting like minded people who were there to have a good time with safety being the primary goal...
