For those of you who knew Art personally I am sorry to see that he passed away recently, my condolences to you.
I never met him in person but I did receive from him a very thoughtful gift one time about 6 years ago when my son needed hunting clothes and the money was a little tight. Art posted on HH.com about having some clothing that did not fit him anymore and I answered the post. Art sent the box of clothing, POSTAGE PAID, and would not receive a penny for it in return. He said the only payment he wanted was for me to take my kid hunting as often as I could wearing those clothes and we would be even...
Today when I was cleaning out my dresser I found the top of the box that had Art's name and address on it from when he sent those clothes to my boy. I always wanted to send something back to him in return for his good deed. I'm sorry to say that I never did but I kept my end of the deal up and take my boy hunting every chance I get.
Just wanted to say my hats off to Art and that even though I did not know him I appreciate what he did for me and my family.

That was Art for sure.
He was a firm believer in what we should all believe in and that is - pass it on. Sometimes known as "random acts of kindness".
If we can do one thing to help others out Art will live on.
God bless..
