Our group had a hunter in his stand who was watching a nice buck and had a CO walk across a field to see if he had a hunting license. That was all the CO asked for, to see his license.
In the view of a lot of us, he was purposely trying to ruin this hunt, and he did!
Now I know you're going to say that the CO suspected some felonious conduct by the hunter and has the right to check anything, anywhere, at any time.
But we also think that when the state sells a license&tag that the state COs have the obligation to not damage the ability of a hunter to fill that tag, except when an obvious violation is taking place. And common courtesy would dictate that a CO not friviously ruin somebody's hunting effort.

::)Thanks for your opinion. If you have a VALID complaint, this is not the place to report it. This is for QUESTIONS.
But since we're on the topic, it sounds to me like he was doing his job. I would hate to read what you would say if the officer drove past (as it sounds like you would rather have happened) while a trespasser was walking through the field instead.
