Would it be productive to hunt rub lines this late in the season?
I was hitting a spot this evening and came across what appears to be a very active trail with very fresh rubs all over it, I mean like one every ten feet.
I was going down to the farm tomorrow to try to nab another doe, but this make me wonder if I have a chance at a buck.
Opinions please

I buddy of mine hunting ILL today with a bow had a group of 8 does eating in cut corn field 1 hour before dark....then 5 different bucks came in same field and 2 of the bigger ones starting fighting he had to stay in tree not to spoke ALL of the deer off as they were all out there. I'd say HUNT IT!

I like you seen some very fresh rubs today ( this morning)and it kinda thru me a bit the rubs I seen was not on big tree's but still made me think. but after tonights hunt I would have trouble thining there still a rut tonight ( I hunted 3p till dark) about 4 had 2 six pointers under me at 5 yds the bigger of the two was sparring with the two yearlings that was with them. 1 hour later had a forky a solid 8 and a stud all following each other down a trail forky got startled by a possom that was under me on his way thru and sat the for 10 minutes@ 2yds and held up the line 8 was 20 yds, was holding out for the big boy that was at 55yds them, forky got around behind me and got my wind and that was the end of that. but I wasn't mad I saw a ton of deer tonight and if I can't seal the deal by sunday he will be there next year but back to the point not real sure why they are still rubbing, I am pretty sure the rut is not active, but give it a shot hunt them and post back how it goes Didn't shoot anything tonight but it was my favorite hunt of the year so far

Had a fresh rub 25 feet from the house last week. I've noticed several others as well.

I figure I have to hunt it, be my first bow kill, let alone first buck if I could get one to walk along that trail.
My rule tomorrow is, if it's brown, it's down

More productive to hunt feeding areas or trails leading to feeding areas this time of year

More productive to hunt feeding areas or trails leading to feeding areas this time of year I agree. If that rub line is along trail leading to/from a feeding area, then that's the trail I'd be hunting!
