Say a hunter shoots a deer and wounds it, then it runs to a second hunter who also shoots it and it then dies.
Is there any legal concern over who tags it and claims it? Does the second hunter have to claim it since he actually killed it? Thanks.

The person who kills the deer is required to tag it. (see page 7 in the hunting regs) Both hunters are required to have the appropriate license to have shot at the deer in the first place. By definition, taking or attempting to take, is the same thing. There may be some other unmentioned circumstances surrounding this incident. PM me with what actually happened, as it sounds like perhaps you or a friend of your's has found themselves in a pickle......
