When treehuggers look at this pic they automatically think some ruthless dude had nothing to do but fling arrows into a herd of deer.
I would hope she was a victim of a shot deflection.

Did IOS make a trip to Colorado hunting recently? Well, I shot an arrow in the air... But that 1,400lb trad longbow was a bit tough to aim right. I was aiming for Utah. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

I saw a similar sight in Chain Of Lake State Park 15 or 20 years ago. A nice doe had an arrow stuck in her bottom jaw. When I saw her it was in July and she seemed in good shape and had twin fawns with her. When I told the people at the park about her, they said they knew about her since the previous fall and wouldn't do anything about it. A real sick sight, all I wanted to do was put her down every time I saw her. Those situations really give all hunters a black eye since the general public paints all of us with the same brush.

i could of swore i've seen this pic before now. Its kinda odd, in one pic the arrow is down to the vanes on the nose, and the other pic, its sticking outa her nose by several inches.

could be a broadhead on there.
Shot looks like it could be one of a few.
Most likely a head on shot and the deer dropped it's head after the release. Or maybe turned into it or even jumped the string.
Hard to tell, nothing like giving the babies something to cry about.
Funny, the don't remember where meat came from before the grocery store...

Saddest part is,,,,ya see that ![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v474/Woowoo1/censored.gif) on just about every friggin huntin show nowadays!

Dave... the angle I had on my doe was perfect - yet my arrow still clipped a twig and was deflected into the doe's eye/brain when she turned to look at the noise.
Crap happens.

It looks like a broadhead to me. Maybe the arrow was pushed forward by something?
This could've came from a myriad of things. Poachers, some kid in their backyard sees a practically tame deer and takes a pot shot, or a purposeful shot. Who knows really. The article is definately written by a bleeding heart tree hugger trying to demonize bowhunters.
It IS sad to see on several levels.

Ahh, but you see, cars ren't "weapons" and people don't hit the deer with their cars for "fun"... so it's "different"... ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Besides, how fun is it to stereotype random car drivers when you can call Hunters "Rednecks" and disparage their non-urban-centric lifestyle?
