I had my little buddy pose with my recently completed skull mount(turned out alright, if I do say so myself) so that I could send it to my brother. My son ( cute, ? ) is standing in front of the front door of my house. I've been wanting to ask about this door for a while, so I thought I'd post this pic. As you can see, the doorknob is in the middle of the door. It's impractical, really, and is probably less reliable, but I like it all the same. It's one of my favorite parts of the house, which is otherwise quite oridinary. Have any of y'all ever seen one like it?

That's a happy lil guy.
I remember seeing a door like that years ago on a TV show called "Family Affair" with Buffy & Jody. They had that center door knob on their front door LOL
Anyone remember this show?

I remember "Family Affair" quite well. I used to talk my younger brother into playing 'Family Affair" and he would be Mr. French and clean our room. I've seen doors like this in old English houses. If it was round it would look like a door on a Hobbit hole!

We had a front door like that on the house I grew up in..... and not hat does not tell my age.... LOL it tells the houses age.... that place was drafty and when we first moved in it still did not have indoor plumbing. I remember going to the outhouse the first week there while our bathroom was being added on... and there was a "well sink" in our kitchen...

Maybe... or maybe the door on our house was a replacement door... although it looked as old and run down as the rest of the house...
They are very cool doors though...

I remember the show. Brian Keith was Uncle Bill. They had two or three Mr French types. Don't remember the oldest girls name but she was supposed to be a teenager. Seems to me as though those doors were somewhat more expensive than the normal door.

A friend of mine has a house that was built in the early 1900s and his front door is like that, I thought it was a one of a kind.
