Let me start by saying I have zero experience with food plots but they have always interested me. The farmer that owns the property I hunt has told me that I can put in some plots if I want to. A couple of things about my situation, The area where I hunt has a very large chunk of woods with farm ground EVERYWHERE around it. I am currently a gun / muzzy hunter only.
I am assuming that some sort of late season plot is what I would want to plant but I wonder, with all the farm ground everywhere, would plots be of any help to me? Seems like the Deer have food about anywhere they choose.
Anybody have plot experience similar to my situation? Am I wasting my time? If not, what would you suggest to plant?

My situation seems close to yours. I would definitely encourage you to go for it. Honestly I have only hunted my food plot 2 times in the 3 years it has been in, I usually hunt the trails leading in and out of it. But it holds deer in your area longer and it is a great place to get good trail camera photo's. I do believe it has helped the size of the bucks from the nutrition it gives them. I have proof of this just from trail cam pics over the last 8 years.
