Today is the last day of muzzleloader season and I can't go out due to a Christmas party. I do get to go out one more time at a hunt at Camp Atterbury and I will be using the smokepole. I have killed a lot of deer with my compound bow but I have never killed one with a crossbow. I am hoping to score a deer in late season with it. How many of you use a crossbow in late season?

Used one last year got 3 does. Try and have a tree behind your target so you can find the bolt if youre hunting from the ground. Hope you have a good time with it and good luck.

I use my Tenpoint Crossbows ,with permit due to injury, the entire Deer season.Really enjoy it. Has made me a better hunter in my old age.

Do you guys think they have more knockdown power than a compound at 30 yards and less. I have noticed they bury a lot deeper into a practice bag than my compound does. The crossbow I am using is my wifes but she never hunts the late season as a matter of fact I gave her my youth compound bow the same year she bought this crossbow and she really like the compound and never shot the crossbow much. I have taken the crossbow out a couple of times after muzzleloader the past two years but I never have had a shot oppurtunity with it.
