goose pond disapointment

Well it was pouring rain and then turned to freezing rain. Weather and wind was good. Open water all over the place. Had two groups work us right at shooting time and took two shots, dropped a suzi and a drake. Then........did not see another bird all frickin day. They were all sitting in the area behind us. They would get up and then go right back down. Fantastic. Very depressing. I think all the birds took off when it locked up and no birds have come back down yet.
I did get some info on the yahoos that shot two swans the other day down there. Got a hefty fine and lost their guns....they really though they were snows according to the dude at the desk
