I am curious to the price per acre that i can expect to pay for a lease in southern indiana or anywhere in indiana really. I have been keeping an eye on basecampleasing.com as was suggested in another thread. I am definitely going to be leasing next season. Just wanted an idea of what I could expect to pay on that site of any others. I have heard from 10-15 bucks per acre. Is that accurate. Sorry for all the questions, i just want to be prepared when the time comes.

I have paid anywhere from $2.00 to $4.00 / acre with "individual" land owners. Never dealt with leasing outfits.

If you use a leasing agent then, 10-15 per acre. If you can find a landowner who will lease then, 3-6 probably.

It really depends on the area you wish to hunt. $4 to $15/acre seems to be the standard.

If you lease from Basecamp or Hunt Lease Network, the bottom price will average about $15 an acre. The landowners will get most of that....probabaly in the $12 an acre range. So, if you beat the bush and find a lease before a lease agent gets it, then you might get it cheaper. But then you have to purchase your own insurance policy, which you won't be able to get at the low rate that the lease agents get. Land isn't easy to find and sometimes it worth letting the lease agents do the legal and leg work. Sometimes.

We pay what averages out to be around 7.00 per acre. Thats including insurance, but got a letter from the company that owns the land saying to expect a substancial increase in 2009. That sucks

That sucks Sounds like you are being "Price Gouged"! What's bad is that last year EHD wiped out the deer herd on this lease. After paying over a grand, what little hunting I did this year was not even on this ground. It's great for turkeys and mushroom still.

I pay 10 dollars a wooded acre , right now we lease 300 acres but only 54 acres is wooded. When we advertise we say we will pay up to 10 dollars .
