Watched a 9 pt open a scrape yesterday evening, grunting and carrying on. He kept chasing a button buck off and hit the scrape 3 or 4 times and thorouly(sp) worked over a couple saplings. All within 25yds of my treestand. Quite an enjoyable show! I've never heard so much grunting. Must be the full moon coming up tomorrow.

I have been watching a loan doe for two weeks. Saturday morning I had 1 doe then 3 does about 30 min. later then a spike and a 6 point and about 2 minutes later a fork horn. I thought that it was a little early for the rut so everything was fine. Then Sunday morning the fork horn and six were walk together, I shot the doe 5 minutes later I heard grunting and I had already let my pack down to the ground so I waited. Then the spike walked up the trail that the doe ran out on, sniffed the arrow, did a figure 8 around the arrow and walked out the way he came in.
I don't know if the doe was mother or if she was ready.

The little buck I shot up in hamilton cnty. was dogging 2 doe and he turned around and came in to a little doe in heat can call. So I think the young ones that don't know better are ready but the big boys are still waiting.

I had a pretty nice buck come in this morning and eat some acorns under me. There was all ready two does and a yearling there and he acted like he didn't even see them.
There are a couple of scrapes that have showed up since last week though.
