Not trying to nit pick by any means, just trying to fully understand what is OK and what isn't. ;D
It was stated:
So on to the question..... I've got a CCW permit. I also own (and use during firearms season) a Contender in a legal chambering and length for deer. As I read the statement above in it's full context, I'm legal to carry that Contender while bow hunting regardless of season. Now, if I were bowhunting during firearms season and carrying the Contender, would it be legal for me to use the Contender to shoot a deer? Even though I've seen nothing thus far that says I can't (though I don't really plan on carrying the Contender any time soon while bowhunting) I'd like to know for sure. Somehow I've got a feeling it wouldn't be legal, but that's why I'm asking!
Thanks!!!
EDITED TO ADD: How does this apply to muzzleloader season carrying a legal-for-deer muzzleloading pistol as well?

When the law was changed to allow one to carry a handgun virtually anywhere, it has left the gray area subject to interpretation in some cases. The law states that while hunting deer with a bow and arrow, one must not possess a firearm (even during firearm season, as I read it) unless you have a carry permit for the handgun. Even then, you would not be able to shoot a deer with the legal handgun if you were bowhunting. I didn't make the law. I know it is confusing. However, it does not mention carrying archery equipment while hunting deer with a firearm. Again, open to interpretation. Let me make it easy for you. Choose ONE and leave the other at home. There are plenty of deer in the woods.
