I have to be honest, being the first day of the hunts, your success without a dog isn't likely going to be very high. Later in the week or the following weekend with lots of extras running around it's a little different story. My advice would be to hook up with another group of hunters with dogs or see if a party that has limited out would still run their dogs for you. I usually hook up with a party every year that's in the same boat. Since i'm usually limited out in less than a half hour I welcome giving the dog the extra work-out. I would offer to help you guys out on the 22nd but I would have to clear out by 11:30. As far as area 19, I can't offer much help I usually hunt the otherside of 69 in areas 20,21, or 22. To me the area isn't a big concern, you already know that there is going to be birds there right?. You just have to adjust your tactics to the cover.

Kennie, I live in Markle and have hunted the Govt. Ground my whole life. 19B borders the Rock Creek and is east of the I69 bridge. It is a small chunk but offers nice cover. Mostly grass and a few brush piles. The bad thing is if the birds decide to fly across the creek you're screwed. I love the put'n'take. We own a couple of pieces of private ground that borders the Res. so I pull cleanup duty on the birds. Good luck

No, Thanks. To muck like a war zone for me. I might go over after the weekend and try finding the ones they missed.
