The "typical" supporter of His Odiferousness - as exemplified by the GRADE SCHOOL TEACHERS who my wife works with - are more than happy to discuss RIOTING, DEATH and DESTRUCTION should The One lose.
Now, I thought it was only radical right wing survivalist kooks who did that...
Oh wait, they talk about preparing to defend against it... these GRADE SCHOOL TEACHERS are talking about DOING IT.
So much for the Peace and Love party...
Hell yes I'm more heavily strapped today than usual...

That girl looked exactly like the girl that helped me feed my ballot into the voting machine this morning. Needless to say, the girl running my voting machine wasn't happy when she saw my ballot, but I thanked her for her service to the voters in order to try and cheer her up a little.

So much for the Peace and Love party... Hell yes I'm more heavily strapped today than usual... Bless her heart. If she is at all anywhere near the right-wing, I know how she feels today. Having been employed at social service agencies in case management and working in mental health positions over the years, I can tell you it's awful to be in the "political minority", especially on election day. I woke up this morning and thanked my lucky stars that I didn't have to do any clinical work today, which is sad because I love doing that with my life. The worst is that everyone constantly assumes you are liberal like them and proceeds to "bash" whatever candidate is running on the right-wing insensitively without any regard for your opinion. When and if you do decide to discuss your political views, they try to "make nice" like whatever they said didn't just fly out of their mouth, and future interactions with them are awkward. It's an uncomfortable combination of feeling so angry you want to lash out at everyone, feeling tense like someone punched you in the stomach, and feeling like you just want to sink into the floor and disappear. In my colleagues' defense (and not all of them are liberal, thank goodness!), I have not heard any of them ever say they were going to riot or become violent if the conservative candidate won (I would definitely say something about if they did, though). However, I have to say I don't ever feel uncomfortable with my two best/very close friends, both of whom are pretty liberal (and neither of them are in my field, coincidentally). They both talk politics with me occasionally having lots of respect for my opinion, and I return the favor. I have the feeling that they approach me wanting to know where I stand without criticizing me for my opinions. The result is great and enriching conversation which I am grateful for. So if you know someone who leans to the right at all and has to be somewhere that is mostly left-wing throughout the day today, do something to make their day a little better. Thanks.

It was the most memorable moment in her life (seeing a politician speak? ? , she had a child with her, you would think the most memorable time would have been giving birth to your child ot if she was married???) She won't have to worry about putting gas in her car and won't have to worry about her mortgage (heck no!!!!,.....you and I will be paying that bill!)

Seeing Barack Obama speak is more memorable than the birth and/or adoption of her child...something is wrong with that!

So much for the Peace and Love party... Hell yes I'm more heavily strapped today than usual... A follow-up to this now that the election has finished--I have heard some of my liberal college campus colleagues say this morning that conservatives are not "respectable" and "should be disowned" for their beliefs. This does not sound like the party of "tolerance" and "love of humanity"... I will say that I had and continue to have a very enriching conversation with one of my closest liberal friends (incidentally, the same friend who is also a friend of Mbogo's and introduced us to one another 4.5 years ago). She has never said or implied anything like that. I am so grateful to her for respecting me for who I am and stating her opinions with utmost respect for mine. I had the same reaction from my other best friend, who I spoke to last night. Fortunately, I did get to commiserate with a conservative colleague of mine once I was on-campus. I just have to hold it together this afternoon, and I'll be OK. (In my opinion--if you disown me for my beliefs, you were never a true friend of mine. Goodbye... )

If she was a typical Obama voter than he would have never won the election.
