We have never been to willow slough and my buddy got 25th pick 10-21 just wondering if anybody knows how many blinds there are and what it is like

They have 24 blinds.

Willow Slough is just like any other state preserve. Everyday the birds get shot at they learn to avoid those blinds that shot at them,and everyday they add another blind to their little list.
Since your pick is within the first few days of the opener I would say your going to see and maybe even shoot at some ducks.If you do decide to go base your pick on the wind and weather not on rumors and state stats. And If you never been to the Slough I would suggest going you can at least say BEEN THERE - DONE THAT.

yea thats what we thought its something new might as well try it out and see what its like and my brother has 15th pick there 11/23 so we will see how it goes

I have the 11 pick on 10-19 so that should be some good huntin. I have not hunted the slough in like 10 years. Anything i should know before I go back down there??

My advice for the slough is to not go unless it is your last option. The place has not been the same since they drained it. I never hunted it, but I fished it alot. There were a lot of birds before, but now there are mainly just a few ducks. I always went North of Purdue about 35 miles to hunt.

bunnyblaster, have you figured out anything for your area this fall? Are you going to misery again this spring? If so on either topic give me a ring and we will make some plans. My brother moved to iowa in july and he has some really good spots maybe you could meet me half way. Let me know.
