Yes Coyote.
Many of us here on these forums are more than just deer hunters and get to see first had the effect of preditors. If you were to talk to some coyote hunters they can tell you about how using a fawn in distress call works wonders.
Ive seen predation first hand in the woods and while it was in progress.
I doubt that this state has done a study on predation effects on the deer herd. But still, predation is a factor like you said it wasnt. Just trying to make sure that the viewers of the site know the truth.
And to skip to the bottom of your post real quick, Im Glad that you hunt for yourself. Life is short and we need to enjoy it while its here. Good for you on this subject. I didnt mean anything degrading by the post. Only that you said we have plenty of big bucks in the state and if this is true then more than likely with your years of hunting you would have harvested one by now. It could be that you would pass on them for something the you would assume better eating.
For the unhealthy part.... Like in the other thread, I will compare your stance to those who oppose State Park reduction hunts. Basicly you would be saying " the forest has to be healthy because there is a bunch of leaves. If you accept the theory of reduction hunts for eco system problems then why cant you understand the ecology of the breeding of deer?
Many times we will make a stance on an issue without knowledge of the issue. But when the invitation is given and avenues are state where someone could learn about them, they remain bull headed.
Im not going to comment on your "Outfitters" questions... I can see where you trying to go wtih it. Dont try to bring gloom and doom antics as a scare tactic.
