Hunted Shades a few years ago, but not until the 2nd set of dates. Saw a few deer but it wasn't hot and heavy. I cannot remember which area I was in off the top of my head. I remember 2 of the bucks killed in my area, one was right along the creek, and the other was within a 100 yards of it. I had a big group of does come flying by me, they also came from the creek, for what it is worth. Was a long walk back there (which is why most guys stayed within 5 minutes of the parking area) but it was an easy walk on their trails.

I quit applying for the park hunts for two reasons.............
1. No youths allowed
2. Monday & Tuesday are work days for me. Monday is our busiest day of the week.

I don't apply because I do not enjoy the atmosphere involved in any hunt where I have to check in and hunt with a bunch of other people. Big thank you to all that do though as you are doing us all a great service.

I'm still waiting to hear. I don't think I've ever not gotten drawn when I applied. Last year was intersting. Killed this nice buck after the gentleman in the picture had shot him first. I dropped the deer in it's tracks and I did hear him shoot first but thought he missed. There was one hole in him on my side but after turning him over there was 2. I said congrats on a nice deer lets get him outta here so I can get back in my tree ! ![](http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b352/hunter7x/drawhuntbuck001.jpg)

911, I live in Crawfordsville, basically down the road from Shades. Typically there are all kinds of deer around there, especially the does. I don't think you'll have problems seeing any. I haven't heard yet about being drawn, I'm guessing I didn't get in. ![:-[](http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/images/smilies/new1226/cheers.gif)

I got area 3 basically everything north of sugar creek. We already went and checked it out but it was still pretty green. Looks like a pretty rugged area.
