ATTENTION RUFFED GROUSE SOCIETY INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA CHAPTER
Grouse Summit Meeting Wednesday, October 1, 2008 9:00 AM at the Indiana Farm Bureau Building
Please make plans to join us, the date is significant as it is the opening day for Ruffed Grouse in Indiana. Forests of all ages and all types are important as each supports its own particular wildlife species here in Indiana. Generally, in an area where a greater variety of forest habitats exist there will be a greater variety of forest birds – song and game birds. The Indiana DNR has recently started logging many areas of the state-owned forests to restore the oak-hickory balance need by several threatened and endangered bird species. Join with us now to help them as they seek to maintain our healthy forest system and increase habitat for ruffed grouse and other species.
