It's the kick-off meeting and the chairman is from northern Indiana (and most of the problems have been up there also). Suggest you wait for a meeting closer to you. They will likely have at least two and maybe three meetings before they finalize the bills to send on to the legislature.
On the other hand if you live in northern Indiana and waterfowl hunt you best get to these meetings.

Jack..... is public input allowed at this meeting?
Regardless, all the St. Joe hunters should show up and have a 1-2 minute speech ready! The NRSS needs to hear your side of the story. You can bet the other side will be there, ready to put an end to your hunting on the 'joe.....and take all the other rivers down with it. I'm sure they'll have and Indy meeting and myself, and other Delta Waterfowl members will be there, but you guys need to show up at this first meeting!

Yes the public will be allowed to speak. Guys it's 1000% easier to kill something like this before the legislature starts than after. Also defeat in the summer study does not mean that it won't show up during the legislative session only that it defeating removes mojority support from such a bill.

Hopefully Pigeon isn't the only one that will show up at the meeting up there. This area is the hotbed of the controversy, so you Northern guys need to set the records straight while they are having meetings up in your neck of the woods. Band together and fight this!

The smartest thing you did was not pick a fight with the guy who harrassed you on the river several years ago.Letting the D. N .R . make a case against him was the best thing that could happen.when I go to theses meetings I let everyone else talk first, take notes, then ask to speak at the end so as to have the final word and respond to false comments.

Ol pigeon taint the sharpest pencil in the box.. Thats fo sho!! I'm just a dumb ol northern Indiana hillbilly!!!
Yes,, I should have went with a wrote out plan ready to defend myself.. Cause I knew what I wanted to say,, but in the heat of the battle,, I was full of emotion,, and didnt get some of what I wanted to say out.. I also should hae taken notes along the way!! Cause there was some things there also!! I should have had pics of my kills with the dates on them to coorispond.. It would have made things even better..
I learned a GREAT deal here,, and you can bet,, next time I have to attend something like this,, I will be better prepared..
You also have no idea how hard it was not to just roll up to this dude and just set him straight myself!!! Thats just how we do things where I am from..
