My Son is 9 years old and last year he only shot Doves on the ground with a .410 shell. Well, his grandparents came and got him today and I sent his 20 gauge Mossberg Super Bantam with him. I was a little a worried it might scare him because he had only ever shot it at a turkey. Well, I guess he hit his first 2 clay pigeons ever and hit 5 out of 13.

I can still remember when I took mine out the 1st time. It's a great felling he's 21 now and thats been 9 years ago and he still calls me to see if we can go out opening day of pheasant season. and of course we do, last year he doubled 15 min in but spent another 4 hrs. helping me get my 2. Damn getting old slows your reflexes, figured that out last year. Bad part is I'm only 44. Just remember he or yourself will never forget the 1st bird, deer, dove or whatever it is, take a camera and get it on film. I wish i was as smart back then.
