Chucker:
Glendale fields looked great about 2 weeks ago. Fields along northern boundry had excellent flower inthem with little weed, corn for cover along the edge. Also looked at fields along south edge of the road skirting the lake. They were also full of flower. I did not drive down the road to the white river access to check those fields.
I will get up there again next week and take a look at all the fields. Do you still have your map from last year? If so, I will list the fields by field number when I post here again.

I just moved to Indiana last year. I got drawn for Hardy Lake on 9/1. I have 30th pick. Is this worth a 1.5 hour drive?

Chucker:
Fields at Glendale still look pretty good. Flower will still be a little wet/green when the cut it (darn those cool damp nights), but should still bring in birds. I hope to have time this Saturday or Sunday to run up and snap a few pics of some of the fields. If I do, I will post them on here.

Fields look decent. Cutting started in past week. Some fields are more green than others due to late planting. All in all, did not seem to be holding as many birds as this time last year. Consistent with what I am seeing around my place and a couple of other places I hunt...fewer birds so far.
Still should make for some good shooting, but not sure it'll be as 'hot' as it was last year.

i went to patoka field 7 this morning and watched it from daylight to about 8:30....
the sunflowers that are still standing are green with some not even matured yet ... i saw maybe 50 to 60 birds total...
i hope yall that plan to go there don't get your hopes to high...
the fields are "VERY" weed choked so plan on "losing" a lot of birds.... the place needs to be round up'd bad
hopefully they will do some more cutting tomorrow or sunday....
good luck...

I got drawn for Roush Lake on Tuesday. Weather forecast is a high of 91 so I not going. Unless you can get into some shade you burn up sitting all afternoon in that kind of heat and "Ive been there, done that"!
I looked at all the flowers at Salamonie and the Heiny Bend area is the best, which is the upper south end. All the other fields were weed choked. If you cant get into the upper end then try and get into the long field that runs east and west, just east of 105 and north of Lost Bridge. The fields in Mount Hope area are all weeds. h.h.
