I've seen some pretty awesome pics taken with homebrew trail cameras and I'm tired of all the problems I've had with the mass-produced models, so I'd like to make my own homebrew. The only problem is......I don't know where to start. What type of camera? Where to get a sensor? What other parts are needed to complete a homebrew? If anyone has any advice on how to get started building a homebrew, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!!

livinoffmywits, I too would love to do a homebrew but that is another one of those projects that I do not have time or the extra cash for right now. Building one would be a hoot. Try this site out www.chasingame.com/ -good site with lots of knowledgeable folks. Go to their forums and check out some of the stickys in the homebrew forum, they have some links to sites where you can purchase anything from the basic components to complete homebrew kits. Should also be links to what they call "hacks" which is the details of how to rewire the cam for sensor control. Google homebrew cameras and you will find some other sites as well, just not as good, IMHO, as chasingame. Good luck with it and please keep us in the loop on your project.
