I have a real nice place to hunt outside of North Judson but saw the urban zones list. The one for Gary might be something I would want to try. Can anyone tell me about this? Are there zones that are set up or is it up to me to find places to hunt?

The simplest explanation I've ever heard is:
If it's notrh of I-94 it's UDZ.
Beyond that I don't really know.

you find your own place to hunt within each defined urban hunting zone Just keep an eye out for the broken bottles, syringes, and dead bodies around there..... ;D I have a real nice place to hunt outside of North Judson but saw the urban zones list. I may still look into this. The season starts Sep. 15th. That could be two weeks of practice under hunting conditions before the regular season starts. The more I am in the field the more I can learn.The latest regs book lists it as the area in lake county north of U.S. 30 but gives no east or west bounderies. I may call the DNR and see if I can get a little better discription of the zone.

Anywhere in Lake County, north of rt 30
West boundary would be Il/IN border and the east boundary would be County Line Rd.
Hopefully this helps...
Went out last night and saw 19 does and 2 bucks well in the 140's..... One will be mine soon!

I rrealize this thread is old but thought I would give it a try. When I finally get back home this area wouldn't be too far away from the homestead. Is there any open public land in this UDZ?
