Thirteen hunt days later, with two misses, six shots total, my young hunting buddy finally scored. His bird a double bearded Jake weighed 14 pounds 8 oz, with two four inch beards and 1/4 nubs for spurs. I did the calling and we doubled with my nephew taking a jake as well. He let the birds walk past him to get to Raymond then took his bird as it retreated past him back to the woods. This all happened with 2 hours and 45 minutes left in our Michigan spring turkey season.
