You need to move to Jackson County Lonnie. Lotta birds down here! Still not near as many as I saw in Switzlerland County though. Wow that's a lot of birds.

Find a southern or a northern area that has birds and go after 'em!

Being from Adams county, I feel your pain Lonnie. I really don't understands the DNR's thought process. Can anyone tell me why on earth they opened Adams, Jay, Wells and Allen counties to hunting? We have checked in an Adams and an Allen county bird already. Why didn't they leave it closed so the flock could grow? Even tho it's legal to hunt in these counties, I think it is stupid to do so.

I personally don't know the populations in those areas, but if they are that low.....I don't know why eithier. There might be more then everyone knows and that is why? Some areas just don't/won't hold that many birds maybe that is why?

Lonnie - kind of like listing Tipton county... only turkeys I see around here are at Marsh in the frozen food aisle... :-)

I do feel lucky to be living in birds. I live out in the country in western Greene county and can step outside in the morning with my cup of coffee at first light and hear gobbles coming from all directions. Thats why I don't understand why the fall firearm season for Greene was east of the White River only? They must be run over with birds over there! The only drawback to having so much game around is that some of the land is going into hunting leases. Shutting us poor country folks out. But there's still plenty of public land nearby.
