I made one of these calls last year and I thought I would go to a design more like this for this year. I just "kinda" smoothed this one out tonight, PLEASE ALL, let me know what you think! I want to hear opinions before I start making more. I'm naming this one "The Fat Bottom Girl"
Again this is a rough draft and not near finished yet. I rounded the bottom and left one end higher so a hunter can hold it in the palm of his hand. I'm thinking of putting a thumb groove in it as well.

After seeing this call in pictures, I already see something I don't like and that is the height of the sound boards, gonna cut them down a bit. I'm also thinking of putting grooves where the fingers rest and a bit more of a cutout for the thumb.

It does look a little tall, but I can certainly appreciate what you are trying to do. From what I can tell, there's not much curve to the tops of the sound boards. How does she sound?

Did you do the laminations yourself? What kind of glue are you using?

I've been playing in the garage as time and temperature have allowed. Gonna go out and put some poly on three of them this morning before work. The newest one blew me away with how good it sounded withOUT working on the soundboards!!

Object to logging?
Try using plastic toilet paper!
