YOUR mileage per gallon A 2007 study by Clemson University found that the average person walks approximately 900 miles per year. A report by the American Beer Institute states that the average American drinks 22 gallons of beer per year. That amounts to about 41 mpg. Not bad!

So if you don't drink beer, your mileage per gallon is undefined?

I'll bet that I get more than that! A 6-pack lasts me at least a month, and I wear out a set of shoes every 5 to 6 months at work. My car on the other hand, averaged 57 mpg last month, and I wasn't even trying (that hard) for good mileage. And NO, it ain't no stinkin' hybrid!
