Retirement is never boring... Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days more interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and into a shop. I was only there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I said to him, "Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break"? He glanced up at me and continued writing the ticket. I called him a "Nazi." He smiled at me and wrote out another ticket. This one for having worn tires. So I called him a "doughnut eating Gestapo." He almost laughed out loud, shook his head in disbelief, finished writing up the second ticket and started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused, him the more tickets he wrote. He actually seemed to be enjoying the entire ticket writing episode. I had run out of insults, and as he attached the last ticket to the windshield, I said 'Thank you and have a nice day sir', to which he just shook his head and walked off laughing to himself.
Personally, I didn't really care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was ticketing had a bumper sticker that said, "Hillary in 2008!". . . . . . I myself try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. It's VERY important to my health.
;D
