I haven't heard anything, but it's not surprising. Unless it's local and in the paper I wouldn't hear anything. It does have a pretty rack. A couple years ago a guy hit an albino buck and claimed it. I think he wanted to mount it and had to call the DNR for permission. I don't know if he got permission but it was an interesting story.
I wonder if the person above checked it in? To claim roadkill in IL you have to call and get a number that has to be kept with the deer if it goes to a taxidermist or processor. It is illegal if a deer is claimed to leave it along the road and take the antlers. I think this is an effort to crack down on poaching. It's a fairly new law.
