OK,I know Im not from Indiana but I like chatting with other hunters,Hope you all dont mind if I hang around. And NO our deer are not as big as yours are.But they are quite plentiful. Im from North Florida where the Suwannee River empties into the Gulf Of Mexico.Very few people and a lot of woods, deer, hogs ,turkey and everything else.

A hearty Hoosier welcome to you!!
We love to hear from other hunters from all over. That way we get to hear some pretty good and different stories.
A member on here has been invited down to Florida to hunt deer using dogs and we discussed that. Now maybe we can hear from someone on the scene about hunting deer with dogs.
Hornharvester makes a twice a year trip down there to hunt hogs.
Looking forward to your posts.

I would love to hunt hogs ... that is part of the reason I agreed to move back to TN when my wife asked. It just looks like so much fun and appears to be difficult to.

that looks like a great place. To bad we don't have anything like that up here. I just found out a little while ago that I lost my lease this year. (comes due end of August) Someone offered the owner to double what me and my buddies pay so I can't blame him. He gave us a chance to match thier offer and keep us but we are all middle class workers and I am a college student so we can't afford it.

Looks like you all have a pretty good hunting club going there.
I see that you also have two seperate areas for deer hunting - with and without dogs. That's good.
Is this a pretty swampy area?
Thanks for sharing that with us.

A lot is pine-wood flatlands with several lakes and one small river that runs through the club, that forms what we call the bay,Its an area about a mile wide the whole length through,Its all cypress swamp and almost impassable except for one bridge. It is full of hogs but they are hard to reach because of how thick and wet it is.Full of gators and skeeters, not a nice place. It is part of the dog running are and not unusual for dogs to run a deer in and then never make it back out. They become lunch usually for a hungry gator.

welcome. do you run any feeders on your club grounds or is it all dog running? i hunt with a friend at South Hackletrap Archery Club close to Palmdale, Fl. Their lease is all bow, no guns and no dogs. Your deer season will begin in a couple of weeks so good luck. h.h.
