I'm David Dimmich, Vice-President of the Indiana Deer and Elk Farmers Association. I like to offer an opportunity for any of you who don't like, don't understand, or generally want to know more about the motivation of those of us who do what we do in the deer farming industry. I know Gene Hopkins and Doug Allman very well, having served on the Cervid Council with them. I think they'll both tell you I am a reasoned and principled man; I just have a little different take on our industry than the majority of you on this forum. I've always prided myself on my ability to get along with most everyone, even those diametrically opposed to my views. I am more than willing to answer any questions or address any concerns any of your members may have regarding this hot button issue. Regards, David Dimmich

Actually Deertracks, I'm not very brave at all. I've just always been willing to be vulnerable with my thoughts and feelings because I know this life is extremely short, and it just doesn't serve any of us well to let our egos overrule our conscience.

Welcome, David Dimmich!! However you will find that the vast majority of members here and elsewhere are really not entirely supportive of Deer & Elk farming. As for myself, I do oppose anytype activities that would involve "Canned Hunting". Being a Sportsman, and fully infavor of fair chase traditional hunting; I for one would refuse to pay & particpate hunting an animal, let out of a cage, inorder for someone to shoot. This is NOT sport hunting in my book, however please don't let views keeping you from contributing to the topic of Hunting.

Welcome David. While I do not support your views and will fight vehemently against your cause, it doesn't make the individuals on the other side bad people. Just have differing views. In my opinion, it's important to have both sides of views presented. You'll always be welcome by me into this forum and that will probably be the case by most of the members here.

David welcome to the site. I to am totally against what you do but do appreciate the way you came in the "front door" and introduced yourself as what you are. The ones who troll onto the site and keep their identities hidden neither get nor deserve any respect from our members. We don't bite but we do express our feelings.

I have been thinking the same thing myself, but did not want to be the first to stir the pot.

I've seen you at one of the CACCC meetings , Spring Mill I think . I've been to a deer pee farm owned by an aquaintence of mine in Ohio , and a first class one from my own observations , but I still can't support your type of business without giving the deer "procurers" equal time . Sorry , but I will never support canned slaughter ranches . Good luck in your future endevors .
Welcome to the board .

Sorry, I haven't been intentionally avoiding this site, but I've been gone for a couple of weeks. It's never been my intent to engage in any shouting matches on this forum. In all probability, I won't change anyone's thinking about these issues; I just want to be available for anyone who has questions about why we do what we do, and what motivates us to do it......

Excuse me please, but what you and your kind do, and support, is offensive to hunters and non-hunters. It is immoral!!!
