I'd go but I don't have a ML tag. We have snow on the ground and I love hunting in snow. Illinois muzzleloader season is this weekend (Fri,Sat,Sun). My next opportunity is the 12th, 13th, and 14th of January during our Late firearm season. My unfilled firearm tag is good then.

Usually one of my favorite times of the deer season. However, I have seen almost zero deer sightings. I had my trail camera out all last week. I got three pictures of deer (two were the same deer just minutes apart). All were does and all were late at night.
It's tought to go out in the cold and not see anything time after time.
Good Luck to everyone!

My smokepole is unloaded because I shot a 128 lb. doe this morning at 8 am. Lots of activity here in Tippecanoe Cty. Heard about 6 other shots. Another hunter on the property I was on got a 13 pointer.

I'll say it was darn cold today. my partner was supposed to get down about 10:30 today and start working around to me and try to drive something my way, thats if no-one shot before then. About 8:30 I'm thinking if he starts doing a drive at 10:30 it will be 11:30 before he gets to my stand. I was sure I was going to be dead by freezing by then. So I started praying very hard for a deer. Prayer answered!!!! 9:00 two does come in from behind me, get one to stop at 10 yds went for a neck shot and after the smoke cleared there she lay. dropped her in her tracks. Shooting a cva optima 50cal with 100grain of pyrodex and a 250 tc shockwave

Muzzleloader hunting in my neck of the woods is always rough. The deer are so spooky from the hunting pressure that they pretty much go nocturnal. The mid-afternoon limited movement is about the only opportunity for a daylight shot on stand. Stalking is about the only option.
