OK I ahve looked at the state website and have asked the few people I know that may have an answer but no one seems ot be able to help me. I want to be a CO or work in the DNR in some fashion. I have been unable to find anyway to get in to this. I am currently going to college ofr a job in the medical field but would be more than willing to change majors if I knew what I needed to get a degree in to gain employment with the DNR. Also I am a veteran of the US ARMY with an honorable discharge would that work to my advantage at all? Any help would be greatly appriciated and again I would be willing to work in a state park giving nature lessons to people if it gets my foot in the door.

If you want to be a CO, you must be at least 21 years old and have an associates degree or 60 college credit hours toward a bachelors degree. Military experience will not give you an advantage until several phases into the hiring process. You should call the DNR Law Enforcement Division Headquarters in Indpls. and ask them you put your name on the list to be notified when the next round of testing begins for the upcoming hiring process. We are in a hiring process now and it will be at least a year or 2 before we hire again. But if you are looking for any old job with the DNR, call one of the 22 different DNR division's main offices and ask them what job openings are available.
