I am trying too find out if this is myth or truth. Flood plains Along the Rivers and what is public and what is not. I have been told that it is legal to hunt flood plains controlled by the Corp. of Eng. Example SouthPort RD Too Henderson Ford Rd Johnson Co.- Morgan Co. North 146 St to 96th St urban hunt Zone. If it is true then where would find the information too get property maps as such and stay out of trouble with landowners who may feel you are trespassing. I maybe out on a limb with this question but felt it was worth asking. I am a bow hunter who is looking at some other options. That is if they exist. The intent is too float the White river too hunt.

You are asking questions in which there is no good short answer. I suggest contacting your local officer to get his/her opinion. The navagibility has a lot to do with the river in hunting/fishing. If in fact the river is navagible, as the White River is, then as long as you stay in the water, and shoot only over the water, as in waterfowl hunting, you will be legal. In my opinion, once you step onto the river bank, you are required to have the landowner's consent, as well as if you shoot at something (a deer for example) standing on the river bank. So as far as bowhunting goes, you will be required to have the landowners consent to bowhunt, navagible or not.
