Baiting

I am unclear on what is considered baiting. Obviously, it is okay to hunt food plots, which is an attractant. We put mineral blocks out around our food plots, are they baiting?
Another example is what if we have mineral blocks (salt) out for the deer and we hunt 100 yds down the trail. We aren't hunting "over bait" but certainly just down the trail. We have pulled these blocks 2 weeks prior to the season but is that necessary? Thanks

I think i posted/addressed this issue on another forum, Dave. It has been rehashed over and over on these forums, usually before deer season. Mineral blocks ARE bait, as is anything transported to the field to be consumed by wildlife. Food plots are considered a normal agricultural practice and not baiting. Some types of manipulation of a food plot can be considered baiting, but I am not going to address the "what if's" about that on here. An area is considered baited up to 10 days after REMOVAL of the BAIT and AFFECTED SOIL. We typically do not use a set distance per se when it comes to baiting, but the location of the bait in connection with where you are hunting.
