Indiana Conservation Officers investigated a Personal Injury Accident involving an ATV in Lawrence County Indiana. At 3:00 pm est. today, Conservation Officers Chad Mills and Blake Everhart responded to the accident location on Tunnelton Road near Budda Indiana.
Injured as a result of the accident was a Cody Deckard, 15, from Bloomington Indiana. Deckard received a broken right leg femur bone and possible internal injures. He was treated at the scene and transported by Dunn Memorial Hospital Ambulance Service to Dunn Memorial Hospital. Deckard was later transported by air ambulance to Methodist Memorial Hospital located in Indianapolis Indiana for further treatment of his injuries.
Cody Deckard was riding a 2003 Kawasaki 85cc dirt bike at the time of the accident. He was attempting a jump, while riding on a moto cross tack located on the Stone Valley Ranch property.
The victim was wearing a helmet, which may have prevented a possible head injury.
Also responding to the accident was the Lawrence County Police Department and the Guthrie Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Indiana Conservation Officers have concluded their investigation of the accident, and no criminal charges are pending.
