West Side man dies of injuries from ATV-pickup crash By THOMAS B. LANGHORNE Courier & Press staff writer 464-7432 or langhornet@courierpress.com April 17, 2006 A West Side man who was involved in a traffic accident while riding an all-terrain vehicle Saturday has died as a result of his injuries. Bret P. Schnur, 37, died Saturday after his ATV collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck while he was trying to cross Old Henderson Road, just south of Bayou Creek Road, in Union Township. The collision occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. The pickup was still bearing a dealer plate and pulling a trailer with a small boat. An abrupt incline leads up to Old Henderson Road's edge from the field where Schnur, who lived on the road, was riding. Lloyd Watson, a witness to the collision, said Saturday that Schnur "came across that field and didn't slow down for the road." "He popped up there so fast, I don't think the guy in the truck saw him," Watson said. The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as Jeffrey W. Bradshaw of Newburgh. Neither Bradshaw nor the woman and two children with him were injured. Police have said there was no evidence at the accident scene that alcohol was a factor in the collision. Attempts Sunday to reach Bradshaw and members of Schnur's family were unsuccessful. www.courierpress.com/ecp/news/article/0,1626,ECP_734_4626580,00.html

Very Sad!, He was a former Indiana High School State Wrestling Champion in 1987 for EMD. I watched him win his title back when I was just starting high school. Condolences to his family and friends.
