Went on my first quail hunt Sat. One of the dogs got ahead of us and split the covey up before we got there. Dog ended up pointing 3 singles and I missed all of them. Those birds are fast!

Yup. I hate those little buggers. Give me a good big slow pheasant anytime.

If I could hunt only one bird, the quail would be it. Spent a couple of days down in Southern Indiana chasing them. Usually, they hold pretty well for point dogs.
Once you've hunted them, you're bitten.

The dog pointed her first covey today! Man that was cool! If I just could have shot better maybe I could have reworded her a bit better.
