This year I decided to swing for the fences...Willow Slough. If I don't get drawn I am sure I can find some guys to slaughter geese with! Long live the early season...

I didn't put in, no places very close to me. I'll probably go down to Atterbury though, they used to have some pretty good shooting down there.

I have heard that from a few guys. What areas to you hunt? We hunted area 14 a few years back. They had sunflowers planted at that time. The shooting was very good the first couple days of the early season, but after that the birds flew over so high up, you couldn't reach them. Haven't been there for several years, so I don't know what they are doing there now. I need to call down and find out. When I do, I'll let you know.

A couple years ago at Roush Lake they cut the limit of hunters down from around 150 to about 45 for each day of the draw hunt. It use to be you could go as a stand-by and get in. Now there is a drawing for the standby spots and usually some dont get to hunt. Ive hunted at Salamonie and Roush Lake and had good hunts and bad at both. You just cant predict what the weather will do and how it effects the dove. h.h.

Kanakee. Have hunted there 5 years now and always limited out. They set it up were you can park fairly close to the feilds not like Salamonie . Got drawed there a few years back and hunted there after the draw was over and you have to walk 2 country miles to you PLACE. Durning the draw they staked you to a spot. Sure hope all this hot dry weather doesn't ruin the sunflowers everywere.

Durning the draw they staked you to a spot. Sounds too painful for my liking.

I decided to put some sunflowers in at my place versus trying to get in some where... 1.5 AC of sunflowers will have to see how it goes...
