Has anyone heard how the grouse hunting should be this year up on Michigans UP?

Not yet...the Wisconsin report had a 28% statewide increase in drumming however. Might indicate how the U.P. is doing.

I do not recall the Michigan numbers but I can direct you to a great publication dedicated to grouse hunting. Last month they published the drumming counts for all the grouse states, unfortunately, I read it then tossed it. "Grouse Tales" is a newsletter worth subscribing to, it cost $12.00 a year. Contact Ken Szabo at: grousetales@msn.com I'm sure he will give you the information you are wanting. I hunt Wisconsin so I really didn't pay too much attention to MI. I know it is up over last year.

I have the Grouse Tales numbers:
Statewide drum counts were 8.9 per route in 2005 Statewide drum counts were 11.5 per route in 2006
They also give a zone breakdown but I have no idea what zone the U.P. is in.
