The IDNR is proposing to lower the limit on Northern Bobwhite Quail in a part of the state to make a statewide limit of 5 birds. there is some proposed changes in the Wildlife areas too.

312 IAC 9-4-9 Northern Bobwhite Quail Authority: IC 14-22-2-6 Affected: IC 14-22
Sec. 9. (a) The season for hunting and possessing northern bobwhite quail is as follows: (1) South of State Road 26, from the first Friday of November after November 3 through January 15 of the following year. (2) North of State Road 26, from the first Friday of November after November 3 and continuing an additional forty-four (44) days.
(b) The daily bag limit is:
(1) five (5) northern bobwhite quail north of State Road 26; and (2) eight (8) quail south of State Road 26 total statewide. (c) It is unlawful for a person to hunt northern bobwhite quail unless the person wears hunter orange. (d) A person may take captive-reared northern bobwhite quail for the purpose of training dogs on a training area designated and approved by the property manager on the following properties only: (1) Brookville. (2) Lieber. (3) Mississinewa. (4) Monroe. (5) Patoka. (6) Roush. (7) Salamonie.

Sounds like they are going to let us bird hunters start stocking quail on some of these dnr properties by the way of training our dogs. I don't know if that is truely thier intension, but I think it surely can't hurt.
As far as the bag limit, personally I think that with the number of birds we have 5 birds a day is enough.
