Hey guys:
Well it's been very busy lately, my oldest going to University, ankle killer, Bear hunting, stand clearing, etc. Still going for the Big Bear, just give me time, ankle is better now. Bear is open for me until Oct. 31. Wanted to tell you guys about all the Grouse around my place. There is so many this season you can drive right up to them on the trails and take their picture, so I did. I also have seen many Moose at my place this season, including 3 more last weekend, two Bulls and a Cow. I have been taking some pictures of them as well but you have to wait for developing. But I will post them for you to see. Driving down one logging trail I passed at least three groups of ten to twelve Grouse having a parade. But I have yet to here from the local boys about anyone getting Bears for some reason. Lot's of people getting skunked when so many Bears around. Go figure eh? Anyways I will post pictures soon, out Geese Hunting this weekend. ;D

I heard another report verifying John's account. Looks like a better season in Michigan this year...at least as good as last year so the cycle must be going up.

jackc99:
I do not know about Michigan but everywhere up North in Ontario, especially by WMU 40 and 28 there is a very good population of Grouse. In fact there is a Billboard in town going toward my place that reads " Overpopulation of Bush Chickens" Stop in for Ammo. At the in town tackle store. I hunt for Grouse very heavily and can say that for the last five years running there has been so many Grouse up there around my area and a little more North that I always get limits daily. And I am not just shooting my mouth. I have many documented pictures and day and time records of my hunts and fishing outings. At least 15 photo albums so far and counting. Good luck this season to you.

Last two years we have seen hardly any grouse in div. 19 (Geraldton) Hopefully this year will be different. Around our cottage in Bancroft they are starting to go back up in numbers. Always have plenty enough for some fun though 2 years ago you couldn't buy one. Last year got a few and this year we see them everywhere.

Well Thanksgiving weekend was a blast at my cottage. Excellent Grouse hunting again. Went out the first morning and limit out in 1-1/2 hour. Next two mornings the same. The rest of the day spent bear hunting and scouting. Pictures to follow when developed. Excellent Birds.
